Apologies for my absence!
I have just begun a computer class to upgrade my skills with a few programs.
-I will be taking classes for about the next 8 weeks, but I'll be around.
I shall return!!!
Every so often, I repost recordings of mine, to make it easier for new visitors here to find them.
Today being my birthday, it seems like I have an even better excuse to post my songs!!!
;-)
There's a more complete list at: http://www.garageband.com/artist/knightraven/
Anyways, here goes:
1) "Envision".
I am still accepting your lyrical ideas towards the completion of this song.
-Just keep it clean!
2) "Popcorn".
-Currently the only Drum Cadence I've ever done.
3) "Unfinished Business".
4) "Lost Within A Song".
5) "Hero: Unplugged".
-Or as I SHOuld say, "Recordings I Can Live With", at this time!
;-)
-These are in NO particular order, but they are similar to what I have posted on my GarageBand site, but it's a bit more organized there. -Some, anyways.
I have no control over the order the songs are listed there, but I like what they've done there for me!
-They are in no particular order here, yet either, but I WILL say that there will be MUCH more in the near future, so please stay tuned! +, theres something there, I don't feature here... -Yet... ;-) "Nevermore 2006", but I will rework it for 2008, so STAY TUNED!!!
-Here's kinda where it is right now.
I hope you enjoy it's progress!
"Envision 2008" (version 4, so far)
-There's STILL no lead vocal parts, as of this moment, but you are welcome to submit your ideas for consideration!
-Please enjoy what I'm trying to do with the backup vocal parts!
"Popcorn"
"Hero".
My hero?
Yeah, I have a few I look up to...
-They know who they are...
"Lost Within A Song"
"Unfinished Business"
"Hero: Unplugged"
I've added, and mixed down five of the seven backup vocal parts.
-Seventeen tracks on this so far... -But I've YET to write a vocal lead part.
ANY lyricist/Vocallist-wanna-be, MALE OR FEMALE and COLOR OR ETHINICITY/Beliefs DOESN'T MATTER, who wants to submit lyrical/singing ideas towards the completion of this song, is welcome to do so, but keep it clean.
-Personally? -I've said everything I wanted to say in this piece.
Envision 2008 - Version IV.
I hope you enjoy it's progress!!!
A sweet, mellow version of our new rocker: Hero.
Tonight, I updated my recently kinda neglected Garage Band page.
-And, I posted a SHORT summary of everything I've been saying here all along:
I am under the care of my Doctor for back problems, I have done song collaborations with Al Owcarz, and (more recenly) Dan E. Vans, a comment about a possible conflict with my use of the name "Knightraven", and a new name Idea if this great comic book publisher thinks anyone will (somehow) be confused with my music.
-Check it out!!!!
Here's what I've been able to do with Hero so far:
Hero: Unplugged
Oh, I'm SOOOO STUPID sometimes....!
(-Knocks myself upside the head...)
No. -I DON'T have to put the tracks back into my 8-Track.
-I just have to keep going.
How fricken' cool!!!!
ha ha ha
As I said, last week, I have cleaned and re-strung my Strat.
-Tonight, I tuned up, and am now fine-tuning it, and soon, I'll be re-doing my guitar tracks, for "Hero", and mixing them down in Adobe Acorbat. (Oh, Adobe ROCKS!!!!!!!!!)
OH! -Just you wait until this is remixed!!!
-THen, just you wait until the re-make of it all!!!! -ha ha ha
Oh, I'm LOVIN' my new toys here....!
-Just you wait....!
;-)
MAN, I LOVE MY NEW COMPUTER WITH VISTA!!!!!!!
Finally, a computer that can handle the high-speed internet service we've been paying for!!!!
Yesterday, I began to make use of a program called Adobe Audition 2.0, which allows me to take each, individual track of my songs to clean up the sound. Although I am unable to fix the timing issues in "Hero", I am able to clean up the sound a bit better!
Last night, I put the original 6 tracks of music for "Hero" into this program. (original 2 guitars and four voice parts) and seriously reduced a lot of the noise caused by the first guitar's amplifier. Plus, I brought out the voice parts a little bit better.
My next step is to send these remixed tracks back to my digital 8-track recorder, and mix them down to one track, then bounce them to a new place (in the 8-track) so I can begin to retrack the 2nd and third guitars, and re-add the percussion parts.
Then, I export these new tracks into the computer and mix them here. -Then I send them back to the 8-track for a final mixdown, then burn to disk.
Then, I can post it here for everyone to enjoy!
It's quite a process, but I think it will all be worth it in the end. After I get this done, I can go back and retrack everything, do this process all over, and post an even BETTER version, but hey... -One thing at a time, eh?
As soon as I'm better with this program, it will show in my future musical postings.
Thanks for your patience!
