A sweet, mellow version of our new rocker: Hero.
Here's what I've been able to do with Hero so far:
Hero: Unplugged
Oh, I'm SOOOO STUPID sometimes....!
(-Knocks myself upside the head...)
No. -I DON'T have to put the tracks back into my 8-Track.
-I just have to keep going.
How fricken' cool!!!!
ha ha ha
As I said, last week, I have cleaned and re-strung my Strat.
-Tonight, I tuned up, and am now fine-tuning it, and soon, I'll be re-doing my guitar tracks, for "Hero", and mixing them down in Adobe Acorbat. (Oh, Adobe ROCKS!!!!!!!!!)
OH! -Just you wait until this is remixed!!!
-THen, just you wait until the re-make of it all!!!! -ha ha ha
Oh, I'm LOVIN' my new toys here....!
-Just you wait....!
;-)
MAN, I LOVE MY NEW COMPUTER WITH VISTA!!!!!!!
Finally, a computer that can handle the high-speed internet service we've been paying for!!!!
Yesterday, I began to make use of a program called Adobe Audition 2.0, which allows me to take each, individual track of my songs to clean up the sound. Although I am unable to fix the timing issues in "Hero", I am able to clean up the sound a bit better!
Last night, I put the original 6 tracks of music for "Hero" into this program. (original 2 guitars and four voice parts) and seriously reduced a lot of the noise caused by the first guitar's amplifier. Plus, I brought out the voice parts a little bit better.
My next step is to send these remixed tracks back to my digital 8-track recorder, and mix them down to one track, then bounce them to a new place (in the 8-track) so I can begin to retrack the 2nd and third guitars, and re-add the percussion parts.
Then, I export these new tracks into the computer and mix them here. -Then I send them back to the 8-track for a final mixdown, then burn to disk.
Then, I can post it here for everyone to enjoy!
It's quite a process, but I think it will all be worth it in the end. After I get this done, I can go back and retrack everything, do this process all over, and post an even BETTER version, but hey... -One thing at a time, eh?
As soon as I'm better with this program, it will show in my future musical postings.
Thanks for your patience!
(-Darn computer... AGain...)
So, for the second try...I've spent the past couple weeks trying to write some more instrument parts for "Hero", using the first recording I posted here.
Yeah, I know. -I should have just started over, from scratch. But I just wanted to keep going, to see where it could go.
As you remember, the first recording I posted had Dan and I on guitar, and I added four voice parts. This recording started from there, and I added a 3rd guitar, a Bass Drum, A Snare Drum, and some Cymbals.
--Makes it sound a little more like a band now. -It still needs a Bass Guitar part, and eight bars of screaming Lead Guitar, right smack in the middle of it. -But I think it's getting there.
As usual, it's not perfect, but I hope you like it! -Tell me what YOU think of it!
Just last night, I sat down, cleaned my Strat and re-strung it. I let it sit for at least two days, allowing the strings to stretch naturally before I stretch them some. I plan to re-track everything from scratch again, and see if I can't clean it up some more.
-Stay Tuned!
-You know... The cardboard box with "Shattered Dreams" written on it, during the new Simpson's episode tonight?
I saw it, and it suddenly made me feel good!!!
-And, I smiled!
:-)
-It's ALMost as if someone listened, for a change....
Rockabye baby, on the tree tops...
-When the winds blow, the cradle will ROCK!!!
Hero (Nelson/Vans)
Oh... -I saw you hero.... -Zero? -Oh....
I saw you "hero"... -I saw you push them to the ground
-Imposter, schoolyard zero... -Who's going to catch you when you fall?
Windows of angels... -Doorways to endless shattered dreams
Unarmed, another sleepless night -Right now, we'll make it through the night
I saw you hero...! -That one who caught him when he fell
-They kicked, you picked him up like a saint.... -And, you're my hero tonight.
Windows of angels... -Doorways to endless shattered dreams
Unarmed, another sleepless night -I swear we'll make it through the night
(Solo) Yes, I saw you "hero"... -Zero? -Oh...
Windows of angels... -Doorways to endless shattered dreams
Alone, another sleepless night... -I know we'll make it through tonight
Windows of angels... -Doorways to endless shattered dreams
Alone, until you come with me... -We're going to make it through this night
