Movie Of The Day...

[this is good]
OMG! I've GOT to see this! I agree with what you're saying but I can see why the church had a particular problem with this. They wouldn't want people to actually question what was being fed to us, would they? I have issues with most things that the Catholic church has manipulated as the truth. However, that being said, I'm a Christian. Just not a practicing Catholic anymore. Too many lies.

Wow, that was quite a mouthful, and I couldn't have said it better myself!

I'm not the best believer on the face of the earth, but I DO know how to read, and I KNOW what I've read. It sickens me the way A LOT of Churches refuse to practice what they preach. One of the biggest and best examples of their lack of practice is the scripture found in John 8:7 (King James Version) "So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, he that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her."

And I DARE ANY ONE OF THEM to boast that they are truely without sin. How many churches hand out the EDITED version of this scripture, (and others) and simply say "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone"? -The book of Revelation WARNS EVERYONE about adding to the word, or taking away from it, (Revelation 22:18,19 -King James Version) yet churches do this EVERY DAY to suit their own agenda.

I swear, if it wasn't for Churches screaming "blasphemy" every time they don't like something, Hollywood's "blockbusters" would probably make a little less money.

As for what I said about "ashes to ashes, dust to dust", I am guilty of the short version too. Here is the word: Genesis 3:19 (King James Version) In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return to the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Oooh, we could go back and forth about the Holy Wars and FRAUD the Catholic church has been pulling for centuries, like the LIE that your loved one has died and is now in purgatory... But, for a fee, they can do a Mass which will guarantee your loved one a place in heaven. That LIE alone, will guarantee the Catholic Churches place in Hell for putting money before one's salvation.

But this post wasn't about church bashing ('tho it's probably time someone DID bash them...) This post is about the freedom to make up your own mind without church persecution.

Thanks for checking out my post! You've GOT to see this documentary!!!! The coincidences, and possibilities are just SHOCKING!!!!

-And these lousy LIARS maintain a tax-free status why? They sure as hell aren't helping people like they claim to be...
[this is good]

You can quote the bible like nobody's business! lol Being Catholic, I can't say I did a whole lot of bible learning cause we were busy learning the Catholic Catechism! lol I do however know about the holy ways and the lies about our dearly departed going to purgatory unless you pay a handsome fee! lol

I will check out this movie for sure. I'm really curious now!

ha ha ha. -I liked the way you worked in half my song title in your response! ;-)

Hey, I'm NO preacher, but I'm aware of most of what I take in. Sometimes I feel like I should back up what I say, and right when I say it. -That's why I added the bible references... So no one gets too confused.

Bear in mind that this documentary is about NO church, and makes NO REFERENCE to ANY "church lies", or anything you and I have discussed here in our comments. It is more like a comparison with what's written in the bible, with what had been found in this tomb. It has FANTASTIC similarity, but NO ONE HAS CLAIMED that these indeed ARE the Christ family bones. It's just that the similarities are waaay too great to merely dismiss and ignore.

I choose to dream, and be in wonder of it all.

Just finished watching it on YouTube - Wow absolutely fascinating. I think it was totally unbiased they just presented the facts as they appeared and used up to date forensic and scientist methods to analyse virtually every possibility.

No 100% conclusion either way. I wish they didn't have to seal the tomb up again so quickly, I wonder what all of that was about - Hmmmmm conspiracy!

For me personally I would think it was great that it really was the actual Jesus family tomb.

I think I know a couple of things that may have the Catholic Church worried. One being the ordination of women in the Catholic Church, it provides evidence that Jesus did have a very strong female disciple spreading his word.

Another issue the possibility that Jesus and Mary had a son.

The resurrection and the possibility that a physical body was left behind.

Plus they just don't want people treading on their turf, if you know what I mean - it is big business.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention :)

I'm glad you were able to find it online! It was fascinating, wasn't it?

The whole church belief twists around on itself so many times it isn't funny. They love to preach about how Jesus was born (he didn't just magically appear)of a virgin, and lived and walked among the rest of us as a human being (not a ghost) died on the cross, like a human, and somehow resurrected. Funny how people die, and we bury their bodies, believing their spirit had gone to heaven (or hell), but just can't believe the same about "God-in-the-flesh" Jesus. Even tho he was born of the flesh, there's just no possible way he could have a body to leave on earth. -Yeah, right.

The whole story gets twisted into making people believe that he was some sort of wandering spirit, even though the word says he was born just like everyone else, well except for the virgin part. I'm more inclined to believe the "wandering spirit" thing after his resurrection. -Don't need a body to come back in....

It's f***ed up the way people criticized and bashed this film, when most of them didn't even bother to see it. For example: After I posted this, I called my mom, and said she should watch it... When I began to describe what it was about, she said "Oh, it's probably made up of some fake facts to try to attack christianity. -That's the devil at work there." (I wasn't really surprised to hear her say that... -She is my mom...) I told her "no, this is simply the documented account of the examination of the contents of a tomb they found." and she told me I was just trying to start a fight with her.

MOST christians are the same way about most things. -Criticize it without any knowledge of it. It's just so much easier to be narrow-minded and critical than it is to actually see just what something's all about first.

Is that what they teach people nowadays? To ignorantly criticize everything they know nothing about? -Doesn't sound like the Jesus I heard about when I was young... Funny how religion has become what it is without any kind of proof whatsoever. Also funny, is how the church decides what we can and can't read when the book of Revelations CLEARLY states what will happen to those who take from, or add to, the word.

-They can't even follow their own word!

This film WAS unbiased, and factual. And, it deserved better consideration than what it received.

You're right about the ordination of women in the chuch. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with ordained women. It's the ordaining of homosexuals I see as wrong. With all of the bible teachings against homosexuality, how could any gay person even THINK about becoming ordained? However, ordaining women isn't what I'd consider a bad thing.

Ha... Easier to close up the entrance to the tomb than it is for them to watch their children. -What a lame excuse to make them leave the site. Yeah, I smell another church conspiracy.

Personally, I thank James Cameron for making the Jacobovici film more widely available for us. After these past 2000+ years, haven't we put up with enough church coverups?

I'm glad you were able to see this, and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

-Tell ALL your friends to see it!!!

In many ways I think this would work in Christianity's favour. I have been the observer of quite a number of discussions here at VOX on whether or not Jesus even existed. The claim from the non-believers is that there is very little non-biblical and physical evidence to confirm that he was a real man, let alone all of the other claims made about him. I would think that if it could be proved that there is a high probability of this being the final tomb of Jesus then it has to be in Christianity's favour if it could be established that he was an historical figure. Makes sense to me.

Anyone of faith who cannot view shows like this and criticise them without even watching them has a problem with their faith. They are worried that their faith maybe tested and they can't take the risk. If you were 100% sure about your faith then you would not have a problem with reading, listening or watching anything which may or may not alter your faith. To be honest this would strengthen my faith as I want Jesus to be an actual historical figure and real scientific evidence would be fantastic.

I agree. I think it would be fantastic to finally have rock-solid physical proof, instead of just having faith and the Shroud Of Turin, which is widely believed in because of it's striking resemblence to artists renderings of the face of christ.

I try really hard to maintain my faith in Jesus and God, after seeing how "his people" alter the word to fit their own agenda, molest alter boys, and make millions of dollars maintaining a tax-free existance while helping very few people. I guess I mostly hang on to the idea that God will return just so I can watch him smite those who preach one thing, but do another. At any rate, I'd say my faith is at about 75%.

:-) I had another conspiracy theory...

Maybe the church is dismissing it all as a hoax merely because they're afraid that someone might try to take bone fragments, duplicate the DNA strain, and try to clone a christ, or a christ family. -It would make for a good movie, eh? ;-)

If they think that they really are a crazy paranoid lot - I think many scientists could do without another Christ on this planet and wouldn't even consider going down that track :)

Of course the Church may not want another Christ for the very reason you stated earlier, he might tell them they are a whole bunch of hypocrites, which is what he told the Jewish leaders at the time. I think if Christ came back as a man again there would be a few churches that would probably want him crucified again.

ha ha ha

Churches that would probably want him crucified again?

(Hmmm. "we didn't keep him dead last time, how dare he show his face again...")

If Christ were to come back as a man again... (-As if some women didn't hate men enough as it is!) -I'm sure everyone would dismiss him and his rantings as blasphemos, psychotic and undeserving of a place in our "lovely little country".

He would be locked down, and seriously medicated. THen, if that didn't work, they'd crucfy him.

-People definately wouldn't know it was Jesus, even if he was right there in their face. -Even the wonderful christians in this world wouldn't recognize him, because like then, he was just too radical to believe.

That has to be a lesson there... No matter how many times Jesus were to come to earth to try to save it, people would never learn. They would ridicule him every time he came back, and have to die gloriously every time, and it would still have the same effect.

Cover-ups, lies, denial....

-And, a small group of radical extremists who continue to preach of his words and deeds. 'Till it takes over the world again, and again, and again, and....

..Again?

-Further proof that people refuse to learn from the mistakes of history...

PS: Not to be a jerk, or anything, but... When you quoted me, you forgot to include it's intro: ":-) I had another conspiracy theory ;-)"

I like where your comment went, (don't get me wrong) but I just want to make sure our discussion is understood in it's intended context.

(grins) however, I still like the part you mentioned!

Yeah, scientists probably wouldn't want to be involved. -Kinda like those staff members (in the film) who drew up what they thought were "anonymous" DNA results for the family tree.

Whoops sorry about the intro :)

I fully agree with all that you said, because it IS what would happen!

Plus if he came back looking like some one from the Middle East, well I know where he would end up - some where down Cuba way!

-Got that right!

Look at how society "looks down their nose" at men who have long hair nowadays... Imagine if he looked like a middle easterner too!!!

Yep. -He wouldn't last long in this world...

Plus, nowadays, I'm sure they have tests to see if a woman really was a virgin...

I'm sure they have tests to see if a woman really was a virgin...

Okay we better stop now, I can see us getting into trouble soon :)

Remember what happened to certain people during the Spanish Inquisition. I don't fancy getting barbecued alive. LOL

ha ha ha

Yeah, I think we've lost our momentum here!

Someone might think we're bucking for a lightning bolt from above, eh?

(insert fried, sizzling sound)

;-)
